内容简介：Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are vital to China’s economy, stabilizing employment and sustaining a large share of market activity. Yet their semi-formal nature makes their scale, behavior, and hidden innovation difficult to measure in both research and policy. Furthermore, MSME operations are frequently intertwined with entrepreneurs’ family decisions and shaped by their social networks, creating a persistent data gap that hinders the study of China’s MSME dynamics. To address this challenge, we propose a conceptual framework that integrates entrepreneurial embeddedness at the individual and group levels (e.g., risk preferences, grit, trust, and social networks) with the dynamic life cycle of MSMEs, spanning entry, growth, and exit. Our approach combines large-scale representative MSME surveys with administrative records, big data sources, and LLM-assisted analysis of open-ended narrative data. We provide several concrete examples to illustrate this integrated approach.
报告人简介：张晓波，北京大学光华管理学院讲席教授，北京大学企业大数据研究中心主任，国际SSCI期刊《China Economic Review》主编。中国家庭动态追踪调查（CFPS）的共同负责人、中国企业创新创业调查（ESIEC）负责人、小微经营者调查（OSOME）负责人。研究领域为发展经济学和中国经济，最近的研究题目包括企业家精神、创新、产业集群和地区差距。论文发表在《Journal of Political Economy》、《Proceedings of National Academy of Science》、《Journal of Development Economics》、《Journal of International Economics》、《Journal of Public Economics》等权威英文期刊和《经济研究》、《管理世界》、《经济学季刊》等国内权威期刊。曾获孙冶方经济科学奖、张培刚发展经济学优秀成果奖、浦山世界经济学优秀论文奖。入选爱思唯尔发布的中国高被引学者榜单。
